Nick Chubb’s ‘Chubb Crunch’ cereal breaks sales record

Breaking the record as PLB Sports and Entertainment’s fastest-selling cereal, “Chubb Crunch” is flying off the shelves for a very personal cause.

Browns runningback Nick Chubb launched the cereal with part of the proceeds going to First Candle, an organization which helps fight against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Almost immediately, it became obvious how much Browns fans love the cereal. In just six days, “Chubb Crunch” sold around 24,000 boxes.

Chubb recently signed a three-year, $36.6 million contract extension that will pay $20 million guaranteed to keep him with the Browns through 2024. At the rate his cereal sales are going before the regular season starts, there might be 1 million sold before Chubb leaves Cleveland.

Chubb has a personal connection to First Candle’s cause. According to multiple reports, his sister lost her firstborn son to SIDS about two years ago. The proceeds are intended to help the organization eliminate SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths and provide support for grieving families.

Chubb’s “Chubb Crunch” is PLB’s latest partnership, following Patrick Mahomes’ Mahomes Magic Crunch, Doug Flutie’s Flutie Flakes and Josh Allen’s Josh Jaq’s. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Chubb said “it was pretty easy” to model his cereal after Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

The cereal boxes incorporate Chubb’s love of Batman with a logo and added features to his Browns uniform. They are only available at Heinen grocery stores throughout Ohio, at the University of Georgia bookstore and through the PLB Sports and Entertainment site.
